This remote language-evaluation role focuses on Bengali speech rather than transcription alone. Contributors listen to clips, judge whether the speaker or model sounds native and fluent, assess pronunciation and intonation, and explain each decision in clear English. Native-level spoken and written Bengali and at least B2 English are required. Experience in linguistics, phonetics, voice work, audio engineering, transcription, or language assessment is valued because the work depends on recognizing subtle linguistic and cultural signals consistently.
Responsibilities
- Listen to audio clips in Bengali and evaluate the nativeness and fluency of the speaker or model output.
- Assess pronunciation, intonation, and linguistic authenticity according to established guidelines.
- Document your assessments with clear, concise written feedback in English, noting key linguistic factors.
- Provide detailed justifications for each evaluation to ensure clarity and consistency in results.
- Collaborate with project coordinators to clarify requirements or address ambiguities in language content.
- Contribute insights to help improve AI model performance in Bengali language understanding and generation.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned audio review tasks, maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements
- Native-level proficiency in Bengali, with strong command of both spoken and written language.
- Minimum B2 level proficiency in English, especially for written and verbal communication.
- Background in voice specialization, linguistics, phonetics, music/audio engineering, or related fields is prefered.
- Experience with audio analysis, transcription, or linguistic assessment is highly valued.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to articulate nuanced language differences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and accuracy.
- Familiarity with media, communications, or teaching is considered an asset.
